One of the most famous of the Belgian road race circuits, this beautiful Ardenaise track has been the home to motorcycle racing for over half a century. It hosted the famous GP des Frontieres, so called because of its close proximity to the French border, as well as a number of long distance 200 mile races.

After the spectacular success of the long circuit event in 2008, this year sees us using the short track again, the long circuit being reserved for ‘special’ events.

Although the spectacular sweeping bends of the old circuit are not to be used, the track is still one of the most popular in Europe among road racers because of its gradient changes and the fabulous flat out sweeping downhill bends which approach the last corner before the start.

This circuit has been the scene of many close IHRO races over the years as, due to its nature, it is a circuit where a hard rider can make up time on slower riders on faster machines.

IHRO first raced at Chimay in the 80′s on the long circuit but has supported the CRMB in the success of the very popular historic race meeting which they organise and which is hosted by the Moto Club de Chimay. We are delighted to return for this year. The local hospitality, aided by the legendary Chimay beer, goes a long way in promoting the popularity of the meeting.
