The IHRO Continental Circus moved on from Germany to England for the CRMC Donington Classic Revival meeting at the end of June.

The interest in the meeting was high, with much talk about the return to the famous GP circuit, however on the day it transpired that the club had opted to use the short circuit to enable all the entrants to get a ride. The decision was a good one as most classic riders prefer the short circuit which is much more flowing and does not have the two brake killing hairpins of the longer Grand Prix track.

The IHRO Continental Circus returned to it’s spiritual home of the Schleizer Dreieck in Germany for the second race in this years series on 20/21 June.

As always the weather was good and a strong field enjoyed the typical hospitality which IHRO is afforded by the enthusiastic organisers, and their key person, Klaus Schreiner.

The second Gedinne Belgian Classic TT meeting was run on a circuit that had never looked better thanks to the fantastic amount of work done by the hard working members of the CRMB, ably assisted by riders from just about all over Europe who had arrived early in the week and volunteered to assist the club members in their huge task. The CRMB were duly appreciative and provided Belgian hospitality in the form of food and of course, beer for the workers.

IHRO returned to the popular Belgian circuit of Chimay on the traditional 3rd weekend of July for the 4th race of its 2007 calendar.

Dick Linton arrived at the circuit without any riders for his very quick Aermacchis, Derek Whalley having retired from racing the week before and Tony Rodger still suffering the effects of his Brands Hatch spill, needless to say there was a queue of people who would have liked to ride the bikes, but in the end Dick chose to elevate Eberhard Liable to the position of ‘works’ rider for the 350 class, Dick’s son Mark was the recipient of the 500 class ride. To say that Eberhard was delighted would be the understatement of the year, his normal cheery expression was increased to a huge grin all weekend.

The CRMC King of Brands meeting brought a welcome change in the weather to rain soaked Britain, we enjoyed 2 days of almost summer conditions, at least it did not rain during the event !

Run as a combined 350cc and 500cc event there were races on both Saturday and Sunday.

IHRO returned to it’s spiritual home at Schleiz for the annual German Historic Grand Prix at the wonderful Schleizer Dreieck circuit in Germany on the weekend of 22nd to 24th June.

Set in the rolling Thuringen countryside, this is probably the finest pure road circuit in the world but with sufficient run-off and safety features to satisfy all but the most ardent anti-road racing proponent.
