Klaus Schreiner

Posted in IHRO News, People | No Comments »

It must be the lack of racing over the winter that does it !!

I have just heard today that Klaus Schreiner, the popular organiser of Schleiz, has suffered a major heart attack and is now recovering in hospital.

We wish him a full recovery, and look forward to seeing him up and about soon.

On a positive note, Bernie Chequer is also recovering from his latest surgery and is looking forward to the season.

Brian Richards

As some of you may know, Brian Richards has been in hospital recently.
Colon Cancer was diagnosed on the 23rd December, an attempt to remove without open surgery in early January, failed, he had open surgery on the 4th February which was a complete success, he has been assured by the surgeon all the affected tissue has been removed, and he doesn’t need any secondary treatment, and although he has an appointment for a check-up in a months time he expects this to be routine, and will probably not need to be seen again for 3 year’s.

Brian said he feels very well, and is getting stronger by the day, he was looking forward to giving the MV a run in the parade’s at Mettet, but have just found out they’ve been dropped from the program.

Brian would like to thank those who have wished him well and he looks forward to seeing everyone again this year.

We all look forward to that Brian.

Pierre Blehen

I am sorry to have to tell you about the death of Pierre Blehen, the President of the Chimay club.

Pierre died on Sunday morning 18th October 2010.

Although not enjoying the best of health over recent years, Pierre had been ‘en forme’ in the past year and his death came swiftly.

It was Pierre who first allowed IHRO to race at the ‘Grand Prix des Frontieres’ meeting in the 80’s and it was as a result of the popularity of those races that the ‘International Classic Trophy Meeting’ which we have all enjoyed, was championed and brought into existence by Pierre.

IHRO was represented at the well attended funeral on Wednesday 21st October at ‘La Collegiale de St Pierre et Paul’ in Chimay.

Classsic motorcycling in Europe has lost a good friend.

RIP Pierre
