You should now have all received your entry numbers form the Mettet organisers.

Access to the paddock will be from 0900 on Friday, with signing on from 0930 and scrutineering from 1300.

IHRO had a very interesting display of machines at the Race Retro Show at Stoneleigh.

In previous years we have had displays with an Italian theme, this year the theme was Seeley. We had John Cooper’s Mk1, Alan Windsor’s Mk2, Malcolm Wheeler’s Mk3 and Duncan Dunbar’s Mk4 all with G50 engines.

Once the spectators realised what was there, there were a lot of favourable comments and a great deal of serious talking was undertaken, such a pleasant change from race meetings when we are often too busy to chat.

I am looking for ideas for a theme for next year.

Tony and Sophie Smith are arranging a tribute race to Jack Findlay at Le Mans Moto GP May 16-18. As this is the weekend after Mettet, riders may wish to stop over and attend this event. I do not have any detailed information, but I believe that the rules for eligibility are broadly along the lines of IHRO.

IMPORTANT

The date for Chimay has changed to include the Monday 21st July as well. This is a Belgian national holiday and has been included to allow more flexibility on the programme.

There will be practice on Friday from midday and then races on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, although the final schedule has not yet been determined. Sorry but I was only notified of this change this evening.

IHRO will see the arrival of hard riding Mike Edwards in 2008.

Mike will be riding Molnar Manxes in the 350cc and 500cc classes for Danish sponsor Vanni Jensen at a number of IHRO rounds.

Mike will make a good addition to the IHRO family and we look forward to seeing him out on the track.

The penultimate round of IHRO series will be held at Ring Djursland and although the Danish circuit is completely new to the us, it is a track with a truly historic background.
